Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fulfillment Commences!
about 1 month ago – Thu, Feb 26, 2026 at 03:27:03 PM

Hey all, Selius here!

Against all odds, we now have every piece of Woodlander in our hands. Y'all, it's all here. I suppose DHS really did just want a chance to read it before everyone else - I wish they'd just pledged for the digital edition, alas.

I won't bore you with the details of getting the pallets inside during a snowstorm, other than to say that it sucked. But the boxes were immaculately packed, everything is safe and secure. I am so happy, hahaha. My back isn't, but that's a different story.

Pictured: thousands of pounds of books

Now comes the hard part. I have around 500 packages to organize, pack, and label. But I'm coming right from a different project of doing the exact same thing, so the experience is fresh. I'm ready to roll.

Packages will be going out starting tomorrow. If you need any part of your order adjusted, such as the shipping address, please reach out as soon as possible. I'll be starting with Storybook Kit orders and going from there! Tonight, I'll rest my back, but tomorrow the fun begins.

I'll update you again next week, especially once I have a feel for the pace. I won't yet make a prediction for completion of fulfillment, but rest assured that your pledge is in good hands.

As always, thank you for your support and your patience too, as we've navigated unfamiliar waters. Talk to you again real soon.

Cheers,
Selius

Woodlander Released from US Customs
about 2 months ago – Wed, Feb 11, 2026 at 01:38:11 PM

Hello backers!

We are incredibly pleased/relieved/frustrated to finally bring you news! After more than two arduous, frustrating months where we could do nothing but wait, the shipment containing the vast majority of rewards for Woodlander has finally been cleared by customs. This means that in 48 hours, the books will finally be on the way to our office in Buffalo.

This has been a trial and a half, and we're immensely grateful for your patience as you sit alongside us. "Intensive customs inspections" are performed, as far as we've been told, completely randomly and happen to a fraction of containers brought into US ports, roughly 3-5% of shipments. To add insult to injury, we're also responsible for the $600+ inspection fee and subsequent warehousing fees of $150 per day, so we're communicating with our freight forwarder about getting the released goods out of the port ASAP.

Once again, thank you for your patience. We are ready and eager to ship everything to you, and the materials necessary - a mountain of boxes and tape and packing materials - have been sitting idle for two months, ready to be used. Once the stuff arrives at our doorstep, expect another update with some pictures!

Still Waiting for US Customs "Intensive Exam"
2 months ago – Fri, Jan 23, 2026 at 11:14:59 AM

Hello all,

This is a very quick update to keep you in the loop. I have no new news to report on as of now; our cargo is still stuck in limbo waiting for an Intensive Exam. As per our shipper yesterday:

"No new update. Container is still pending an available DOOR for stripping."

I know this is very frustrating, believe me; I've had boxes made and ready for packing for over a month now. We have never encountered something like this before, and it could very well be the case that we are simply collateral, as the Woodlander shipment is only a handful of pallets, a fraction of what a shipping container holds.

Exams are doled out randomly and affect only 3-5% of cargo annually, so I suppose we just got unlucky. The purpose of the exams is to check for illegal goods, such as weapons and narcotics. Thankfully, we're only dealing in books.

There is nothing more we can do except wait. As soon as we get good news, I will let y'all know.

That's all for now. Talk to you again soon.

Thank you,
 - Selius

US Customs "Intensive Exam" - just a little longer for fulfillment.
3 months ago – Sat, Dec 20, 2025 at 11:21:01 AM

Hello and greetings, folks!

Selius here. I will cut to the chase; we were expecting to receive all of the goods this week so we could begin sending things out by the end of the week and have Woodlander books, adventures, and more arriving for the holidays. All our planning was based on that projection. However, that is not happening, as US Customs has given us some bad (but not catastrophic) news: they want to look at the books before you do.

We got this notice yesterday, despite them having apparently detained our container again back on the 12th, so I guess they just really want to read Woodlander cover to cover before letting y'all see it. We will continue to keep everyone in the loop, and we are getting all of the fulfillment infrastructure on site ready to send out packages the moment they arrive on nicely-wrapped pallets!

For now, there unfortunately isn't a date from customs on when exactly this "inspection" will be completed. It shouldn't take long, but we're at their mercy, and we're being charged extra by customs for the privilege. So in the meantime, there's nothing to do but be patient.

As always, thank you so much to everyone who has supported seeing this come to life. We eagerly await the chance to get everything to you!

Addresses lock in Backerkit in 48 hours - fulfillment imminent!
4 months ago – Mon, Dec 15, 2025 at 01:28:51 PM

Hello again!

Well, it's that time we've all been waiting for. The bulk shipment is set to arrive this week, which means Woodlander packages will ship out at the end of this week too - as long as the delivery schedule remains true. I have no reason to suspect otherwise, though, so we're going ahead and locking addresses!

If you need to change your shipping address in Backerkit, now is the time. Addresses will lock Wednesday afternoon, roughly 48 hours from now. I've initiated it now so that we can have all orders secured and all postage dialed in when the bulk shipment arrives. We'll launch right into it ASAP!

Shipping supplies = assembled

It'll be a rush, but as long as we have the goods, your package will be in the mail before December 20th, and I will do everything I can to ensure that happens. Wish us luck.

If you need any assistance with changing your address in Backerkit, just let us know! You can email me at [email protected] and I'll confirm or adjust anything you might need.

That's all for now! You can expect another update from when the stuff arrives at our doorstep - a short and celebratory post!

Thank you,
 - Selius
